SOME BACKGROUND

Hi, I'm Nick Westwood, founder and designer for RetroBreak games. I always knew I wanted to make games. The first game I ever made was made in powerpoint and spanned several floppy disks! It was called HIARKIN and it's mostly lost to time now, although I did find one of the disks when I was clearing out my room a few years ago!

When I finished school I decided to pursue Game Design. I learned a few basics at College, but really all that was good for was playing on the DS all day, and occasional rounds of Smash Bros on the projector. I did upload a terrible flash game called On The Edge Of Time, which you can still play today on newgrounds.

Next came university and I wanted to take another step on the path of becoming a game designer, the first playable game I released was Quantum Shift, a game I made as the project part of my Final Year Project. Download the demo here.

After Uni I got a job in IT, during the past few years my understanding of coding has got much better and I decided to try and get some more practise by downloading Stencyl.

I made a quick game to try it out and test the uploading to iTunes. This game is called BLAST AREA and can be downloaded form the iOS app store here.

This brings us up to today, and my latest project, Super Donuts which has just been released on iOS and Android!

Feel free to check out the rest of the site for plenty more information on Super Donuts as well as some other projects I have planned for the company!

Retro Games for the New Generation.

The goal of the company is to take nostalgic game design and create games for people to enjoy today. Scroll down for a look at some of our projects.
